Abstract

This thesis examines how movements, associations, societies, and acts helped native American Indian religions to survive the enormous pressure of Christian immigrants and the governnment, and describes the results ofthis suppression. I will prove that although many Indians obeyed Christianization, the movements, acts and other organizations aided the Indians, who clung to their traditons, to retain their native religions.
