Abstract

This thesis examines the effects of the prohibition in the US in 1920s. My essay is on the understanding that because of the development of the twenties, prohibition was not so influential in the social improvement and in the people's lifestyle. In support of that I give the main features of the American society then the lifestyle of the middle-class (I chose this stratum because numerically it is the biggest part of the society in the twenties). In my essay I will demonstrate those factors which made America improve in the twenties so I would like to represent the economic and political effects of the World War I and the activity of the presidents of the Republican Party.
