Abstract

This thesis paper examines the clash between Western and Indian cultures and values in Kipling's "The Miracle of Purun Bhagat", using some postcolonial theories and a short summary of Hinduism and Buddhism as underlying phylosophies. I will endeavour to prove that only natural differences exist between the way of thoughts and values of India and the Western world, instead of the inferiority and superiority suggested by the colonisers.
