Abstract

The place of rhythm, rhymes, music and movements for developmental and mnemonic functions has long been recognised by teachers. This thesis examines their role in practice. In the Literature Review of my thesis, I focus on the effect of music on early physical development, than I summarize some of the language teaching methods regarding the natural way of language acquisition. I will describe my experience about using rhythm, rhymes, songs accompanied by movements compared with a more traditional way of teaching in an experimental lesson in a grade 3 class.
