Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to show the influence of the mother tongue, Hungarian, in the English sentences translated by Hungarian young learners, which leads to language transfer. I have collected 105 papers, each with 42 sentences translated from Hungarian into English. Through error analysis, I intend to show the native language influence during second language acquisition. Since my mother tongue is also Hungarian, the transfer errors made by Hungarian learners are easily spotted upon examining their translations. I am going to examine the errors and reveal which Hungarian linguistic structures influence the English performances of Hungarian learners.
