Abstract

My thesis is divided into two large parts. The first part is about teachers in general: about their behaviour, roles, feelings and personality. The second part contains the method and the results of a survey made among training teachers and pupils in order to get a picture of their opinion about teacher's personality. My questions were related to personality features which are necessary in my opinion in order to be a good teacher and I wanted to know if training teachers and pupils thought about personality as something changable, if they could imagine any development to become a good teacher. To say it briefly, are good teachers born or can someone become a good teacher during her pactice. If yes, then in what way. As the results show, there are certain personality features which are essential in order to become a good teacher. These features can be learnt during teaching practice or later, by self-investigation, help of other teachers and children.
