Abstract

In my thesis various behaviour problems will be dealt with within the field of discipline that may occur during using groupwork in an English lesson. Since no learning process can take place without proper discipline, it is very important to lay special emphasis on the disadvantages of groupwork. First of all, I focus on the roots of the disruptive behaviour problems, secondly I concentrate on the disadvantages of groupwork, and most importantly I elaborate on the preventive techniques and on the various handling strategies. The aim of my thesis is to prove that the appearance of discipline problems can make groupwork less effective, and in order to avoid this I present how teachers manage to control a lesson eliminating disruptive behaviour.
