Abstract

This thesis examines the importance of using grammar games in teaching English as a second language to young learners. In practice the elements of different methods are used by teachers taking the aim of teaching and children's characteristic features into consideration. I will prove that language games help to develop children's grammar. Using playful activities at the different stages of the lessons our students concentrate on the games and they do not realize that they practise grammar structures. The focus of my thesis is comparing the treatment and efficiency of the same grammar practice games in two English classes. I will demonstrate that with playful activities children can acquire language structures successfully. My observations and the analysed questionnaires which are filled in by teachers of both classes helped my work.
