Abstract

This thesis is focused on finding facts to support for the existence of the Total Physical Response Method in lower primary classes. Through the describtion of the TPR and real experiences in practice, I will prove that due to the playful, active nature of this method it is suitable for teaching young children. Presenting the most important characteristic features of primary pupils and several ways of making use of their mobility, I will demonstrate that the adequate adoption of the TPR contributes to the learners' motivation, maintaining their interest and acquiring the language successfully.
