Abstract

In my thesis I elaborate on the topic of the Hispanic Americans. I follow the process how they came to the United States and examine the backgrounds of the different Hispanic groups, pointing to the differences within this group and the similarities and cultural ties that bound them together under the label „Hispanic" or „Latino". I follow the way how they multipled themselves over the years, emerging into the largest minority group of the United States of today, outnumbering the African Americans. I present their social life in America, elements of their everyday lives, family lives and holidays and their impact on the American society and on the American people.
