Abstract

In this paper I intend to elaborate how affective factors and cognitive development influence language learning. I also demonstrate with the help of a test that age is not an influential factor. The first two parts deal with the age-related issues: the differences between children's acquisition and adults' learning and the critical period hypothesis. Finally, cognitive development and affective factors are discussed in details. I will show that there are several psychological factors that can have an effect on our performance.
