Abstract

In my thesis I want to prove that English words play a very important role in the Hungarian language, moreover, sometimes they are indispensable. The first half of my thesis is about vocabulary changes in languages, especially in the Hungarian language and about their reasons in general. I have made a short survey about using English words and other foreign words in the Hungarian language. I have prepared questionnaires and handed them to 100 people asking them to fill out the questionnaires. I have analyzed these questionnaires from question to question and I have given a summary of them. Finally, I have tried to demonstrate how this topic can be used in the English classroom.
