Abstract

This thesis examines how we can make drama an effective means to enhancing a variety of communication skills in teaching and learning English. I will review some techniques and methods teachers can draw on in the course of teaching both in class and in the form of extracurricular workshops. I will discuss how drama through combining game and communication is particularly suited to achieve a wider involvement on the part of the students and how imitations of real-life situations will prepare and coach them to creatively and confidently express themselves in a foreign language in the real world.
