Abstract

This thesis aims at giving an overview of the significance of Stonehenge throughout history, especially focusing on Neo-Druidic movements after the Second World War. In my paper I am going to deal with those social phenomena that triggered the renaissance of Neo-Druidic cults around the structure of Stonehenge and I am going to prove that the occurrences around this marvellous place were influenced by many factors. My thesis is based on detailed research, using very different approaches but through my work I was mostly influenced by R. J. C Atkinson, who is undoubtedly one of the most well - known experts of this rather contradictory topic
